Frozen Oneida Lake

Description
Finally made it onto Oneida Lake today. It wasn't too cold, and it hadn't just snowed, but I still needed snowshoes for the 12"+ drifts. I didn't walk all the way across. I went to the middle, took pictures and came back. Proof of concept. There was a constant breeze from the West, but I wasn't cold. I tried to use the snow to make a wind barrier when I stopped. I forgot my hiking snow shovel so the snow bump I was able to make didn't help a ton. Not a big deal. What was a bigger deal was I forgot my snacks! I drank my Mountain Dew Code Red but had nothing to eat. 🙁
The sun came out a couple of times. When I started I couldn't see the far shore, and lost sight of the shore I started on, but the sun made both visible on the walk back. This 5.16 mile hike was completed in 02:49:21 with an average speed of 1.8 mph.
